A huge thank you to Niamh Lehane, Ladies Committee and Kay Gaffney, 1st and 2nds Ladies Team coach for organizing a fantastic Skills Fest for 35 lucky 4th, 5th & 6th class girls today!

In spite of the wet weather, the girls had a fabulous time, learning new skills and improving their old ones from Amy Roberts, Ciara Sexton, Emma Twomey, Grace Mullin, Lucie Gale and Zoe Wilson. A sincere thank you for giving up your bank holiday to coach and encourage the junior girls - it is very much appreciated.

Kay's well planned, innovative, fun and well thought out drills included Short Corner push outs, Aerials & Lifts, Volley, Deflections, Stick Stop, Blading/Stealing, Spin (& Lift) and Shuttles.

Lucie Gale coached 5 of the girls in goalkeeping and we could see from both the shuttles and the tournament that they were naturals at it!

Finishing off the Skills Fest was a mini tournament, with Amy, Emma, Grace & Zoe all taking a team. Huge congratulations to Emma's team for winning the tournament.

A big thank you to Nicky Stokes, incoming Munster Hockey President for coming along to show her support and presenting Emma's team with their Winner's Easter Eggs (special thanks to Niamh for supplying them!).

This was the first Skills Fest that the ladies have delivered for the junior girls and we hope it's the first of many! The Skills Fest raised €665 for the Ladies section, which will be put to good use!
